A new station for Milton Keynes
Tuesday, January 04, 2011
The recent opening of our brand new £2.6m Coachway coach station
on the outskirts of Milton Keynes seems to have delighted everyone
- thanks to impressive new facilities and an innovative building
design. A key aspect of the building is its striking roof canopy,
which covers a heated waiting area for around 100 passengers. Other
facilities include a café, shop, ticket office and 24 hour
security.
The station also shares its location with the city's new park
and ride scheme - giving customers easy access to local bus
services. Vanessa McPake, Cabinet Minister responsible for
Transport, said "This is a fantastic milestone for Milton Keynes,
providing a gateway into the city for residents and visitors alike.
The new Coachway is a very significant improvement of the previous
facility, and offers a far better waiting environment for users of
this important transport interchange."
