Disability is on the Radar
Tuesday, November 08, 2011
On 18th October, two members of our team went to 10 Downing
Street to attend a 'Leaders in Disability' reception, held by
Radar, the Royal Association for Disability Rights.
Elizabeth Brzozowska, our Senior Training Officer (Learning
& Development) and Mark Hollis, our new Accessibility &
Inclusion Manager met host, Samantha Cameron, and fellow guests
David Blunkett and wheelchair paralympian Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson.
They also had a chance to discuss our Equality training module with
Liz Sayce, the CEO of Radar. Lizzie Brzozowska has worked closely
with Radar on the training module and helped to forge a strong
relationship with the charity.
The Equality training module will help staff define what a
disability is, identify the right way to deal with specific
disabilities or impairments and help staff to build their
confidence when assisting customers with disabilities.
