Glastonbury team rocks
Wednesday, July 07, 2010
Our team rose to the challenge of helping thousands of people
get to and from the UK's biggest - and, for once, hottest -
festivals. As well as all the dedication, commitment and good
humour of our Events team, their success was also down to months
and months of detailed planning.
"Coach Operators, Drivers, Planning Teams and Customer
Experience staff all played their part in helping to transfer 8,800
people safely to and from Glastonbury," said Samantha Windmill,
Events Planner. "We had 35 'willing' volunteers at the festival
site on the Monday to help people get home again."
Together with the rest of the team, those volunteers created the
UK's largest coach station for a day (in the middle of a baking hot
field) that handled well over 200 coaches between 6.30am and
3.30pm. Astonishingly, they loaded and moved a coach, on average,
every three minutes!
