IT placement helps students gain new skills
Wednesday, December 14, 2011
David and Kieran, two students studying IT at Queen Alexandra
College (QAC) in Harbourne, recently joined our IT team for a week
to get hands-on experience and put their skills into action. The
students spent time in different departments including service
desk, business support (Midlands) and infrastructure.
The Queen Alexandra College is for students aged 16 or over who
are blind, partially sighted, visually impaired or autistic. Many
of the students have Asperger's syndrome. Some students have a
learning disability while other have complex or multiple
disabilities.
Andrew Denton, Technical Support Analyst said "David and Kieran
enjoyed their time with us and learnt some new skills. It was a
pleasure having them in the department. They were both very keen
and eager to learn, and we look forward to providing further
placements in the future."
