We scoop two UK Coach awards!
10 May 2010
At the 2010 UK coach awards, National Express picked up the
Accessibility award for the innovative wheelchair lifts we're
installing in our new generation of coaches. And the Unsung Hero
award for our very own Mark Hollis.
Mark Hollis is the tireless manager of our Service Support
Centre. It's open 24/7 and is responsible for over 1300 coach
departures every day. So it's often the first point of call for
both drivers in trouble and for customers - especially outside
office hours. Our nomination praised Mark's dedication and hard
work, particularly during the bad weather this winter.
We also beat off strong competition to win the coveted
Accessibility award. It recognises our achievement in creating a
whole generation of coaches on the UK network that feature
wheelchair lifts at the passenger entrance. The innovative design -
which is well ahead of statutory requirements - is helping to
transform travel for wheelchair users and enabling millions of
people to have the chance to get about more independently.
Finally, our 2009 Spring coach marketing campaign also won a
deserved 'runner-up' award.
