Become a Trainee
At National Express, we're not just committed to giving the best
Drivers the best coaches to drive. We want to bring through the
next generation and train them to deliver the service we are famous
for.
As a National Express Trainee Driver, we'll train you to achieve
your PCV licence. Once you have it and extensive road experience
under your belt, you'll be part of a team that transports customers
to lots of different locations across the UK. Whatever your route,
you'll drive a state-of-the-art coach and your customers to their
destination in safety, on time and in comfort.
We'll look to you to provide exceptional customer service and
information at all times, sell tickets, handle money, and help
passengers to load and unload luggage.
Naturally, safety is paramount and you'll operate within legal
requirements such as tachographs, VDFs and drivers' hours
regulations. You'll also be there to ensure all vehicle defects and
any incidents are reported in line with company procedures.
You will work closely with the garage, Customer Experience teams
and airport terminal staff, as well as company Engineers in the
event of mechanical problems.
We're looking for smart, professional people (who are 21 or
over) with outstanding customer service skills and a real sense of
responsibility. The ability to work shifts (including weekends and
Bank Holidays) and a good level of fitness are both vital, as is
possession of a driving licence for at least 12 months.
